Time to bake

Well - I guess it's time to bake the X-mas cookies - unless you've already started. We'll we have already baked our Lucia buns. For those of you that don't know what Lucia - is - it's a Swedish tradition that we celebrate Dec 13th. I promise to tell you more about it here on the BnW Advent Calendar Dec 13th ;-) Anyway - here's the pic of the Lucia buns and you will find the recipe here.

Now on to the card that I want to show you today. It's baking with Nana. Isn't this the cutest image ever? I so love it. It reminds me of my sweet Grandmother Aina. She and I was very close and all of us loved it when we got the chance to bake with her. She would bake the most delicious cookies.

I coloured the image with my copics and yes - as you all know by now - I love, love, love my Eskimo Kisses DPs :-), Added the sentiment from Aud Design, ribbon from stash and a heart charm.

For those of you that want the chance to win some Advent Calendar Candy - please use Mr Linky below. I would also love to hear from you what this image makes you think of - I hope you will have the time to leave a comment as well.

The lucky winner will be posted on the side bar tomorrow - so please check back - it could be you??? ;-)

Kram and happy baking!

  7. The Lucia buns look delicious. How much is 1 dl? Maybe 100 ml? It's okay for milk, but how do I translate that into g for e.g. flour? Hmmm...

  20. My grandmothers lived out of town so my mem ories are of watching and then as I grew older making the cookies with my mother, although when very small she let me stir the batter as much as my small hands would allow. Of course, the best part was being able to lick the bowl. Love all these stamps.

  22. This wonderful image reminds me of my dreams of Christmas. My mom's mom passed on before I was born but she loved to bake and cook - Mom says I'm just like her. I always imagined that she would have taught me everything.

  23. This image reminds me of an old Aunt who died at 92 this year, she gave me my first experiences of baking at the young age of four. I learnt a lot from her and I'm grateful for all the traditional cookery ways she taught me. It also prepared me for when my family came along and I now bake with my three children.
Love this image and all the Belles and Whistle images, it's been great to see them all come and see the new releases being launched in such fun ways.
    Happy crafting

  32. My mom and grandma weren't the inspiration for my cooking skills, but a neighbor was! She cooked for the school (and at that time it was very excellent meals) and walking down the road you could smell her homemade rolls baking! That's what the image reminds me of, sometimes I'd stop in and visit with her while she was working in the kitchen.

  34. I love this Image! My Grandmother always makes the best desserts! And when I was little she always let me help her and when she was done with the bowl and spoon she would give it to me and I would lick every last drop!! That was if she was making cakes or icing to go over it. And that little girl reminds me so much of myself just waiting till she was done sturring the cake batter so I could have it. It also reminds me of my children with me now except I'm not that old yet or even a Grandmother. My kids are not very patient though and they fight over who gets the bowl and who gets the spoon and beaters. This image brings back so many memories.
    Hugs,
    Angela

  41. This is one image I just have to have. It reminds me of the days I spent with my Grandmother who taught me how to cook and bake, only I was right in the middle of everything instead of sitting on the chair watching. She taught me family values and that spending time together and learning from each other is one of the most important things in life to learn.
I love this card and what it symbolizes.
