Merry Monday......

Good Morning!! Can you believe it is the last day of November??? Since it is the last day of November I thought it would be a good idea to make an advent calendar. This will be the first year that the girls will "get" something and I think it will add some excitement to there day! When I was little we had one where we would have to hang an ornament on the advent tree. (There were 7 of us so some of us only got to do it 3 times and we felt a little ripped off!! haha)
Plus hopefully I won't have to tell them how many more days until Christmas anymore!LOLI know in true advent style the numbers are supposed to be out of order but I just wanted to make it easier for my youngest who is counting everything!!!
I decided that 'Twas the night before Christmas.. was the perfect stamp for this as at the end that is exactly what will happen!
First I painted the calendar (which is pressed wood ~ Kaiser Crafts) and then lined it with paper. Each of the boxes is lined with paper as well. The numbers are painted with crackle paint and then I went over the edges with distress ink.
The image was colored in with Distress inks and twinkling h2o's. I also added stickles to Santa's white areas.
Now to figure out if I should put three of everything in the boxes or take turns! My hubby is a softy and thinks I should be fair and put three things in all of them but I thought they would feel more special if they had there own days! But I better figure it out before tomorrow!! haha

Don't forget to visit daily as we have created something for everyday of advent and Summer has some fabulous Advent surprises going as well!! You definitely will not want to miss it!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!!!

Reindeer Feed and Jingle Belles!

There's a quick and sweet project that I used to make with my girls for the holidays. It's called Reindeer Feed and you put it down on Christmas Eve to lure the reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh to your house.

I adore Jingle Bells by Belles N' Whistles. I just love Elisabeth Bell's illustrations and these Christmas Collections are just adorable and magical to me. I could just color and color all day long!

It's so easy to make. All you need is one cup of oats, one cup of sugar and mix in some glitter or some colored sugar or crystals. Some birds don't digest the glitter very well!

I just love this reindeer's sweet face and look at this sweet elf. Have you seen anything cuter?

So I hope you enjoy this quick project for the kids. It only takes a few minutes and gives you lots of sweet memories in return. I know it did for us!

Card Ingredients:

Jingle Bells by Belles N' Whistles, Eskimo Kisses by BasicGrey, stickles, copics, fine glitter by MS, nestabilities, SU topnote die, oatmeal, sugar, glitter

A Variation on a Theme...

Hiya! I think I may have a new obsession... Has anyone noticed the abundance of gift boxes around me lately?! They are such fun to make though & I am comforted by the fact that at some point they will come in useful, that is if I can bear to part with them!

This one is definately finding a new home though & already contains the cutest pair of teeny socks I've ever seen!

A bit of a departure from the run of Christmas themed projects from me today. However the stamp I used for this project is a christmas one called Belle's Carols. No sign of Belle though! It's funny but as soon as I saw this stamp I immediately thought how cute the little group of toys would look on their own for a child's card.

Don't you agree?

Image is coloured with distress inks & DP is Future Baby by Paper Adventures. Apologies for the appalling picture quality :( it really is fairly dismal around me today. I hope you are faring better!

Ginger Anyone?

Hej!
First of all - thank you soooo much for the wonderful and sweet comments on my project for the BnW blog hop. So much fun to see that so many of you wanted to join us and that you all agree: E Bell has done it again and thanks to Summer - we all can get a piece of her talent to work with!!!

Today I have a short post for you - showing you the supersweet image Gingerbread corner.
Isnt' she cute? Well - I'm not sure if we will be able to make such a wonderful Gingerbread house this year - but I think we will try. It will be so much fun for Isac to make one. However - it could be that he wants us to make a Gingerbread Ferrari instead :-)

I coloured the cute images with my copics. DPs are from the Eskimo Kisses range - of course *lol*. Ribbon from my stash.

Many of you wanted the template for the bottle tag/box. I received it from our local shop - Pysselakuten at our local scrapevent Vänerscrappen Nov 14th. Here's the template.

Tag:

Box:

You see "Glögg" mentioned - that is our mulled wine that we drink - adding almonds and raisins in the Glögg and then drink it while we are eating Gingerbread cookies. Vin = Wine.

This is the different sized that you can use - since the Glögg bottles normally are smaller and not as tall as the wine bottles. The lines that are marked indicates the score/fold lines +
where to attach the box to the tag. I hope that you will not have any difficulties in putting this one together. Don't hesistate to email me if you have any questions on how to put this together.

Here's the result again of the one that I made for the blog hop. You can of course alter it and decorate it as you see fit.

Kram and looking fwd to hear from you.

Caroling Wednesday!

Happy 'Hello' to you all out there! Woohoo time is flying and only 36 Days 'til Christmas! Are you ready to start your Christmas decorations soon? I am, as a matter of fact I hardly can't wait to get all my stuff down from the attic and start decorating our house inside and out. I looooove Christmas, it is my favorite time of the year. Lynda already showed you a fantastic Ornament yesterday made using Belle's Carols.

And to show you how versatile this stamp is I made a different kind of ornament using just part of the stamp and you get a completely different look. To create my snow globe ornament I used different kinds of Spellbinder dies and an acrylic shaker card pouch which I filled with coarse snow glitter and tiny marbles. Belle is colored using my Copics and the DP is from Basic Greys Eskimo Kisses paper collection. For decorating I used black metalic music notes and metallic snowflakes and a ribbon to hang the ornament. And the good thing is this is a quick project too :-) Great if you need a quick gift or it can even be used as a gift tag.

Thanks for stopping by today and nay comment you may leave!

And I hope to see you here next Monday for some real EXCITEMENT .... ;-)
Mark your calenders!!!!!!!

Hugs,
Iris

Tree Trimming Tuesday

Greetings Everyone!
Here we are, another week closer to the holidays.
Can you believe it?

I thought I would show you something that I created
for my holiday decorating.
I made an ornament for my Christmas tree.
One that would have special meaning to me.
I chose to use "Belles Carols" for this ornament,
partly because of my own musical background,
and the other part, because she represents my being
chosen to be part of this awesome design team this year.
I truly am blessed to be a part of such a wonderful team.

I took a couple of pictures, so that you could see more detail.
But before I show you, I thought I'd dress up my
display a little, so that my ornament gets to be shown
in it's proper surroundings. LOL

I bought one of those cheap little office style Christmas trees
and then made tiny ornaments to decorate it with.
It would have been nice to have mini lights, but I couldn't
find any at the time, so we'll have to deal with just the little ornaments.
Do you recognize anyone on these little ornaments?

The mini ornaments were simply punched with
some circle and scallop punches, nothing fancy,
but I thought it would be a nicer way to show off
the actual ornament that I made.

Here is a closer view

I can tell you, I once saw a picture of a card made to look
like an open book, and I've never forgotten it.
I just had to sit down and figure out just how to make
something like that.  I started to doodle on paper, making a pattern,
and finally I came up with a book shape that would work.
BUT....
How on earth would I get the layers,
and the bowed or arched effect that I wanted?
So my mind whirled and whirled,
and I ended up creating 3 different book templates,
and layered 2 of the larger ones, using the 3rd one for a decoration.

For the base of this book ornament, I used a piece of scrap
lightweight cardboard.  Actually, I think it was the
backing from a paper stack.
I inked it, then embossed it in green.
This made it even more firm, as well as added a nice gloss finish.

Next I added my 2nd book shape, and decorated that.
Once that was done, I added my colored image.
I used some chalks to blend the white parts of the paper
with the paper that was behind her, so that the edges of the
white cardstock didn't stick out like a sore thumb!

Some glitter and some ribbon were added,
and then my smallest book, which I hand stitched the edges in gold
for a more defined look.
In order to get the arch that I wanted, I used a lot of
silicone glue and some pop dots.  It worked perfectly!

I used a punched flower and trimmed the flower petals, in order
to get the pointed petals like a poinsettia flower.
Little jingle bells were added, as the finishing touch.

Here is another view

Once everything was exactly the way I wanted it,
I coated both the front and back, as well as all the
ribbons and details with Modge Podge.
This added yet another thing to help this book ornament
keep it's form. I love the stiffness and the high gloss that
the modge podge provides.
Even my ribbons are hardened, to keep their shape!

I appologize for the long post, but you know, I just HAD to tell
all about my new Christmas ornament.
I can't wait until I can put it on my Christmas tree this year!

REMEMBER to make sure you mark your calendars for Nov. 23rd.
Belles 'n Whistles will be having another Blog Hop
We'll be showing off the new releases for December.
I promise that you are going to love them!

Rocking Friday

Hej!

Just wanted to wish you a wonderful weekend and show you this little card with Rockin' Around! Isn't she just supercute? This card is not going to be a X-mas card - but a card for my niece Julia - who turns 1 end of November. She's a cutie too ;-)

Coloured the image with my copics. DPs are Basic Grey and I went for - as always these days - a clean layout. Chalked around the edges with pine cone.

Added the heart charm, Country Elegance flowers and some blings ;-)
You can find all the DPs and the embellies here.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend! And also - I would love it if you would link to your card/project where you've used one of the BnW stamps. Please leave the link with your comment below.

Winter Sleigh Rides.....

Good Morning!! I am so happy to be here showing you a card featuring this adorable image ~ Jingle Bells. This is another one of those images that just pulls at my heartstrings! I absolutely adore the old-fashioned feel to it and the compassion that it shows!! So sweet! How cute is that ~ that helpful little elf getting the reindeer all nourished for a long night of flying! Love the whole idea of this image!!
I have decided to go a little vintagey on this one. I have inked all the edges with vintage photo distress ink and went around the image with brushed corduroy to help to achieve the look. Bronze embellishments finish it off! I thought the sentiment Jingle all the way was appropriate as well!!

Thanks so much for stopping by to see some more Belles and Whistles creations ~ my first as a Guest DT so it is especially special and official for me!! LOL
Have a great day!!!
:)Kathy

Heart Warming Wednesday

Hello sweet stampin´ friends! I am sending out a light to all of you because it´s St. Martin´s day here in Germany. Martin was a roman soldier and lived in the 4th century and was the first one who became a saint not because of him dying as a martyr but because of all the good things he did in his life. The story all german kids get taught is the story of him being out on his horse in a cold winter night when he met a poor man without any clothes. He stopped, took his coat and cut it apart to share it with this man. When the people heard of this they wanted to thank him but Martin hid in a stall. So the people were walking through the streets with lanterns to find him. So each year on the 11th of november, when the dark has come, the german kids walk through the town together, holding self made "lanterns" and singing songs about St. Martin. Sometimes also a horse with someone dressed as Martin is going on top of the row. That´s only a little part of the legend, but it´s enough to explain my project of the day. I thought I´d create a lantern myself to show you today:

I used "Gingerbread Love" from the Christmas Collection I for my lantern so I will also be able to put on the table during christmas time. Aren´t these two too cute? I love seeing them sitting there, sharing their love for sweets... I carefully stamped the image on tissue paper not using too much pressure because the color may bleed into the paper. I then colored them using some "normal" color pencils.
To make it look nice also during the days I used some brown cardstock and put some shimmer golden embossing powder on it. For the window I put the image behind I used my scalloped oval Nestabilities and added some yellow transparent paper (cut out circle) to frame the image. As decoration I went with some lace, flowers and swirls.

I am wishing all of you a happy St. Martin´s day!

Merry Monday with A Little Gingerbread Love

Merry Monday everyone!

I hope you all had the time to spend crafting
over the weekend.  I wish I did! LOL
I thought I would post a quick card
to show off one of our newest releases.
So I created a card using the
"Gingerbread Love" stamp.
I think these guys are just the cutest!
It makes me wish I was the one eating those
delicious looking gingerbread men!

I hate to admit this, but I just have to!!!
I am normally always prepared for a post.
I arrived home from a trip, and realized
that it was my turn to post something.
I had nothing prepared!
I thought I would lose my mind!
I went right into panic mode, but took a
deep breath and got right to work and decided
that I would make a cute, but simple card!
Thankfully I had such an adorable image to use.

This was one of those cards that you just sort of start placing
papers, and wait to see how it looks.
Totally random, and definitely different! LOL

So, I apologize for my quick post today.
I hope you all have been enjoying the different cards our
wonderful design team have been making for you.

If you've ordered any of these stamps I'm sure you will
be getting them any day now!
Isn't that exciting?
I know that we can't wait to see what you are
all creating!
Don't forget to show us, by adding your creations to
the Belles 'n Whistles Gallary!

Wishing you all a Merry & Crafty Monday!

Softer Side of the Holidays

It's the softer side of the holidays when using pink! I for one love pink and just had to use this for a sweet image like Rockin' Around. I decided to create an easel card, it's my first one and I actually thought it was something complicated...it's really easy!
Here is a side view of the card. To hold the card up like an easel I have punched out 3 little red snowflakes and added some clear dewdrops over them.
Here's what the card looks like from the front and opened. As I was making this card I could only think of my niece who is 2 years old. I will definitely give this to her for Christmas!
Be sure to get your Belles n' Whistles stamps now...the holidays are fast approaching!!
Thanks for your visit today, hope you have a great Friday!

Thank Goodness it's Thursday!

I cannot WAIT for Friday! But while I do, I'll share with you my version of the new stamp, Rockin' Around--she's tooo adorable! I'll announce winner number two of our Christmas Release Blog Hop as well! =)

So here she is, Rockin' Around, The Christmas Tree--both new stamps in the Belles 'n Whistles Christmas Release I. Did you catch that? I said Christmas Release I. That would have to mean that there will be a Christmas Release II, right?! Mmm hmmm, that's right! Six more BEAUTIFULLY CUTE Elisabeth Bell Christmas designs will be pre-selling before you know it and they are just as fabulous if not MORE fabulous than the first Christmas Release! Wanna know when they're coming? You'll have to stick around this place for the details!

Now for our second winner....
Congratulations Tammi!
Tammi's answer to my question was as follows:
"AMAZING cards and projects by the DT, I love these types of blog hops done with recipes, etc, lots of fun seeing what everyone came up with these darling images! We don't put out Christmas cookies anymore (boys are all grown) but when we did it was sugar cookies...now on Christmas Eve we get together with a bunch of family and play games/eat a big dinner/open presents, a wonderful time. :) "
Tammi, please contact me with your address so that I can get your goodies out in the mail! ;D

Happy Thursday all!

It's my birthday

and I got Belle singing for me - but not only that - I got the honor to pick the first winner from our blog-hop!!!!

So first of all - thank you ladies for all your lovely comments and that you joined us for our BnW blog-hop. We are so happy to hear that you love these cute images as much as we do.
Elisabeth has done it again! Her illustrations rocks!!! And so does Summer who turns them into these wonderful stamps - so that we all can play with them.

Well - I need to share another card with you - before I announce the first winner of these brand new stamps. I coloured Belle's Carols with my copics. Then I went for a rather clean layout with my Eskimo Kisses DPs. Added the Country Elegance flowers and some embellies in the center. Tied the blue polka dot ribbon and added the SU sentiment Merry X-mas (well - it could actually have been Happy Birthday as well - but I can't create b'day cards for myself - can I?? *lol*)

I hope you like it. Well - now over to what you really are here for - right?? The first winner of these adorable stamps is picked by Random org. She has left comments on all the DT blog-posts and answered Summer's question).

Congratulations Sharon Caudle!

Here's Sharon's answer to Summer's question:
"WOW WOW WOW!!!! Your card is just amazing! And lights too!!! Unbelievable!! What a stunning creation! Love ALL the stamps, and just how lucky are two people going to be (fingers crossed that I'm one of them! LOL!) I really enjoyed the blog hop! Thanks for all the fun, Summer! hugs! Awww crud! Forgot to say we leave out sugar cookies for Santa! Thanks again for all the yumminess! Now I need to go find a cookie to eat! :) hugs!"

Congratulations! Sharon - please send Summer your contact details so that she can ship this yummy prize to you!

And ladies - remember to pop by tomorrow - because then we will announce winner no 2!!
