4th Door Is Opening!

Hello to you all! And welcome to our 4th day of the Advent calendar! Today is December 4th which is also called Barbara Day where I come from. On this day we have a tradition in Germany. You cut branches from fruit trees or a forsythia, put them in water and they will be in full bloom on Christmas. Those branches are also called 'Barbarazweige' / Barbara branches. They are supposed to brighten your home in the cold and dreary winter season.
This tradition results from the story of the martyr Barbara of Nekomedien also known as Saint Barbara. She was sentenced to death and on her way to jail a branch got caught in her dress. She put the branch in a pot of water and on the day of her execution the branch was in full bloom.

Ok so much about sharing a little "old world" tradition with you :-) Today we don't have a project to show, instead we like to play a quiz.

The question is:

When was the first Belles 'n Whistles release?

Name the month and year! (hint - you might want to check this blogs archive ;-) )

Just leave a comment with your answer (one per person) and in tomorrows post we will randomly pick the winner from all correct answers!

Ok and I don't leave you any longer in suspense with yesterdays winner ;-) I know you are dying to find out!!! Yesterdays winner (randomly drawn) of the secret goodie bag is:

Woohoo! Congratulations!

That is interesting about Barbara's Day. I'll have to tell my mother-in-law, who is also a Barbara. She always puts cuttings from her Pussy Willow tree in water this time of year so they blossom in time for the holidays.
