Has everyone (except Elise in Las Vegas) gotten a taste of Autumn yet?
We have had some refreshing temperatutes here in the south central plains,
the humidity has dropped, if only for a moment,
and the brisk breeze is beginning to bring the leaves off of trees.
This is my favourite time of year; mild temperatures, lots of harvest bounty to bake with, beautiful wildflowers abound, and time to get on that seasonal crafting!!
And just in the knick of Holiday crafting time, Belles 'n Whistles has converted some of last years seasonal favourites into wonderful, clear photopolymer and I couldn't wait to get my inky little fingers on them!! This image is called Rockin' Around and you can find it HERE.
I just adore Elisabeth Bells sweet little images!! She includes such charming details in her images, like Belle on her rocking horse, with her little bare foot sticking out from behind the pony, in real life, I don't know that I could resist giving those feet a tickle!! And her teddy has joined her for the ride, now what could be cuter??? When I was a little girl, I dreamed of waking up to finding a rocking horse under the Christmas tree!! This, I suppose, is what it might look like at the lucky little ladies house who DOES get that rocking horse for Christmas, lol!!
I have stamped the image 4 times and decoupaged it, adhering the images to each other with foam dots and colouring with distress inks, I also ran a gray pencil around the edges of the images to soften up the lines of demarcation, they can look a little harsh if they are left white. The snowflake panel was distressed in vintage photo, the DP is from last years Magnolia paper and the flowers, lace and ribbon are from my stash!!
Thanks for stopping by to visit my project, I really appreciate your time and thoughts!! I am completely thrilled to be "working" if you can really classify stamping as work, as a guest for Belles 'n Whistles, the stamps are as sweet as can be and so are the lovely ladies on the bnw design team!! Thank you Summer and the BnW team for allowing me this great pleasure!!

I have a little something to show you today. I was just playing around the other night, and created this picture, using this Gorgeous "Warm Apple Pie" Stamp that was released last Fall. After creating this scene, I decided I didn't want to use it for a card. So after the entire image area was done, I sat here just looking at it, and BANG, it came to me, that this would make an adorable front to a booklet. So I set out to make a simple book, and use it as a recipe book.
So out came the pieces of hard cardboard, some cardstock, some glue, and all sorts of cutting objects. LOL.... I decided on making this a 10 page recipe book. Of course leaving the recipe pages blank, so that later favorite recipes could be written in.
The spine was done in an accordion type of fold, and the edge binding was covered with lace. I have taken 2 different pictures of this book, obviously the front, and then one picture of what the inside looks like. All of the pages are pretty close to being the same, other than the fact that I doodled with red pen differently on each page along the plain colored blue cardstock. Well.. enough of my chatter, I think I will just SHOW the pictures.
I know it's a little hard to see, but on the actual recipe pages, I have some 2 different Belles 'n Whistles images faded into the background. "Cooking with Nana" and Belle with her Cupcake. These pages, are placed this way so that each section that is laying open, will show both recipe card images.
Hmmmm, what more can I tell you about this? Ohhhh You should probably know that this whole idea was definitely a "Fly by the seat of my pants" project. I had no template, I had no tutorial, and REALLY had no idea how it would turn out.... So what you see is what you get. Probably the next time I do something like this, I might actually have some ...Ummm... "Better" ideas for it.. ha ha ha...
I brought this book with me to school today, so that I could doodle in the inside, when I had some free time. Well wouldn't you know, the kids in our classroom all wanted this book. Imagine these 9 and 10 year old kids wanting this? I told them that maybe we could do something similar for an art project. So of course NOW we have some happy kids. The girls in the classroom of course want these adorable Belles images all throughout their book. Hmmmm, do I dare to let them use my stamps ??? YIKES!!!
So now that I have bored you all with my stories about School kids, I think I will stop all this jabbering. I hope that you have enjoyed my little recipe book. If anyone has any booklet ideas for these adorable Belles 'n Whistles stamps, I know that we'd all LOVE to see your creations. Belles Photo Gallery always likes to get new things entered there. *wink*
Have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!!!

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be making my first offical post as a GDT member. I'm in full fall mode now so I broke out this darling Scarecrow and Little Wizzard image. I think it sends the perfect sharing message don't you.
I colored up the image with copic markers the dusted the edges with chalk ink. I used one of the new Nestabilities dies from Spellbinders called Wonkey Squares. I thought it was perfect for a little ghostly flow to a Halloween card. Along with the little batty touch the EK Success punch added to the trim. The DP is from Basic Grey's Eerie paper pad.
I was thinking the other day about time and how fast it seems to go by. My baby turned 16 last week and I can remember quite clearly her first Halloween costume and all the ones since as well as all her older brothers. Now, I find that I am being told by my grandkids what they want to be for Halloween. That's what makes me smile most about these wonderful Belles 'n Whistles stamps. It's the tradition they seem to portray and all the good memories they bring to mind with just one look. I hope they bring you the same joy.
Have a wonderful weekend and happy crafting!

Happy friday to all of you! I know, it´s been a long time since I made one of our daily posts... I´ve been on vacation, enjoying a trip to the States. But now I´m back - and glad that friday finally arrived!LOL School re-started this tuesday for our part of Germany and so this week was quite stressfull. And this is why this post is named "friday -finally"! ;O) The weekend is near and I can see myself having the time to sit on our porch, enjoying a cup of coffee and a yummy cupcake. And that´s what inspired me to make this card.
"Just for you" - meaning just for me in the case of the coffee and cupcake - goes wonderful with this little cutie holding the cupcake. To me it always looks like she´s thinking one last time if she should have this yummy sweet treat for herself or give it away. ;O) She´s well educated and so I know she will give it to a friend to sweeten up his/her day. But do you know those gifts you are going to make but kind of want to keep them for yourself? I think for Belle that cupcake is one of those gifts.
I used Copics for coloring and to give the card a touch of being covered with sprinkles I´ve added silver glitter to the edges of the papers and the leaves and flowers.
The saying is by Stampin´Up - it usually has a second line saying "so you don´t have to share". This would have been perfect but it was really big and so I decided to cut it off and just go with the "just for you" part. With this we keep it as a secret that Belle thought about taking a bite! ;O)
I am wishing all of you a wonderful weekend - and if you have the chance to take the time to enjoy a coffee - or tea if you prefer that - and a little cupcake to treat yourself!

I was browsing through "Belles Photo Album" and I found some awesome creations that are definitely "Spotlight Worthy". So I decided to combine a little Spotlight time with my September Calendar page today.
You see what happens when all of these darling cards are in one general area? I can browse and drool over all your awesome designs. I just know that Little Belle must be in her glory to have such an amazing Photo Album dedicated to her!!!
So here we go... Look what I found?
This one was submitted by "JanesLovelyCards"... If I remember correctly, this one was located in the "Handmade Flowers" challenge section. Isn't this GORGEOUS????
Next we have a beautiful card by "Janie" this one was submitted for the Lilac color challenge. Just look at that beautiful coloring, and those delish papers... All the lacy edges on this card are the perfect addition to an already FANTASTIC card.
This one was submitted by "Gregs Girl" WOW - do I need to say anything more about this beauty??? Beautiful layout, absolute Gorgeous coloring, and all those awesome layers and lacy edges. Simply BEAUTIFUL.
Check out this SUPER FANTASTIC easel card that was submitted by "TaraG" I believe this one was for the "Color Red" Challenge. Wow I honestly don't even know what to say about this, just a fabulous card. The layers, the flowers, ohhhh, just everything, look at all the detail. Absolutely FABULOUS!!!
And last but not least, we have this scrumptious creation submitted by "Vanja" for the "Everything Goes" challenge. The coloring, the aged edges and those chocolatey colors just remind me of Molasses cookies or something... Makes me want to bake, that's for sure. Simply DELICIOUS Vanja!!!
Thank you so much ladies for all of this wonderful inspiration, and for sharing your works of art in "Belles Photo Album" I love seeing people sharing the inspiration, and utilizing the photo gallery this way. =)
Okay, now for my Belles 'n Whistles September Calendar page. I did something just a little bit different this month... You will notice the image, or shall I say the images.... I combined the darling little "Belle with Teddy" from none other than "Belles 'n Whistles" and then added "I Love You This Much" Digi image from Elisabeth Bells Digital Collection.
Now in reality, the designer of both images is Elisabeth Bell, BUT... here at Belles 'n Whistles, for challenges, etc. We can only use Belles 'n Whistles images to qualify for prizes etc.
But don't these two darling girls look like they are meant to be together??? I just couldn't resist combining them.
I decided not to embellish this page too much, simply because I felt that it was already busy enough, with the printed papers and all, and I really didn't want to subtract from these adorable girls.
I hope you all join in once in a while and create a calendar page of your own. We'd love to see what you do.... There is even a section in the Photo Gallery to upload your calendar pages.... I would love to see some inspirational pages in there. =) You can get your Calendar template by clicking on the link on the right side bar of THIS Blog...
Okay, that's all from me today, thank you for sticking with me through this long post. Thank you again ladies for your fabulous creations and congratulations on making it into the Spotlight here at Belles 'n Whistles.

I am so happy that I got to play with this cute stamp, a little fairy. Earlier I have coloured this fairy with a blue dress, but I think she is beautiful in green too.
I have added stickles to the wings. I have used 3 different patternpapers, and decorated the card with flowers and pearls
I wish you all a beautiful weekend, and hope some of you will participate in our weekly challenge.

Good Morning, and Happy "Labor Day" for those of you in USA.
Lynda here, posting todays challenge for you. I think you're going to love this one, I know I love it, probably because this was my challenge idea. ha ha
But before we get to that, I have a winner to announce from last weeks "Back To School" Challenge.
and the winner is.....
And your card was so creative... I love it!
send you your wonderful prize!!
Wow Random.org probably thought I was joking when I entered the numbers 1-4, LOL... I couldn't believe that there were only 4 entries last week. Where did everyone go? Come on lets beat that number this week, I have confidence, we can do this!!! RIGHT?
We are having a color challenge. Along with September, comes change, kids going back to school, apple picking time, and at least here in NY state the leaves on the trees start to show signs of changing colors. So I wanted to do a color challenge using "Summer Sun" - "Real Red" - and "Olive Green" trying to keep the colors as close to these as possible.
So there you have it, do you think you're up for the challenge? 2 Simple rules to follow.
#1 Use your favorite Belles 'n Whistles Stamps,
#2 - incorporate these colors,
now go to it, and show us what you have.... Of course we would like to encourage you to not only enter your link here but also post your card in the Belles 'n Whistles photo gallery. Belle truly enjoys looking at your creations in her own "album" (Link is located on the side bar)
This is what the DT girls came up with using this cool color combination.
