Tutorial Tuesday - Paper Flower

Hello Belles 'n Whistles Fans! It's the last Tuesday of the month and that means tutorial time here on the BnW inspirational blog. I made a tutorial to show how to make your own paper flowers. I hope you like it and hopefully get inspired to try it out!

So gather your stuff and follow me ;-)

You'll need the following:
Flower Punches in 3 different sizes, I like to use the retro punches
Double sided cardstock (preferably heavy weight)
water sprayer
brad
something to prick a whole through the flowers

Punch out 4 large, 3 medium and 3 small flowers.

Layer the flowers on top of each other and prick a hole through the centers.

This is what you should have right now.

Now stagger the different sized flowers on a brad (see photo above), starting with the smallest and secure brad

Take your water sprayer and wet the flower. Make sure it is wet enough to fold and shape the petals easily.

One by one start folding and scrunching the petals towards the middle. But be careful don't tear them, the water makes them very soft and delicate. If necessary spray again with water to wet the petals more.

This is how your flower should look after folding the small and medium petals

And this is how it looks after you're done folding and scrunching - a big wet chunk of paper.
No worries this will be a pretty flower soon;-)

Now the unfolding begins. Again petal by petal start unfolding and shape your flower as desired.
Still be very careful with the wet petals.

This is now your flower unfolded. I usually leave the last one or two layers of petals folded as the flowers centers. Let the flower dry.

Once the flower is dry you can decorate it with glitter, Stickles, glimmer mist, chalk, airbrush it etc.
before adding it to your next project.

And this is how my flower looks on my card:

Just a reminder: Our newest Belles 'n Whistles challenge started yesterday HERE on our challenge blog. This weeks theme is GLITTER!
We would love to see your entry and maybe you like to make your own glitery paper flower!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
