Look Who Is In The Spotlight!!!

Greetings everyone!  Lynda here, with a special Spotlight post today.  Today - on March 31st here in NY State we are on a Winter Storm Warning... this evening they say that we will get 8 - 16 inches of snow.  YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!!!
I wanted to show you an absolutely "OVER THE TOP" gorgeous card that made for one of the Elisabeth Bells World Challenges a while back.  I fell in love with this the moment I saw it.  She used "Catch A Flake" from the Belles 'n Whistles Snowbaby collection.

Just look at that gorgeous card.  The papers, the layout, and this beautifully colored snowbaby.  Oh I just love this....

And....Since mother nature is going to play a snowy April Fools joke on me, I thought I would at least share one of the prettiest Snowbaby cards I've seen.

You can find more details about this card by visiting Karina's Blog.  =)

Don't forget that we have a challenge going on right now over on the BnW Challenge blog.  Lets see all that sparkle....  =)

Angel......

Good Morning!
WOW didn't you just love Iris's flower tutorial?
They are gorgeous and was going to try one for my card
today but realized I didn't have the smallest of the
punches!! Will have to find one though!

Anyways I have made a card today to go along with
the challenge for this week which is shiny sparkly glitter.
That is an easy one ~ I love glitter and put it everywhere!
(And when I am done with my card it is literally everywhere! LOL)
I have a few pictures to show because I couldn't get the right
colors and shimmer with one shot!

Isn't she just adorable!! I just love the chubby cheeks and legs! The
look on her face is priceless as well!
I have added glitter to the border, the butterfly, her outfit
and the flowers. Here is a better picture:

I also sprayed the ribbon with some glimmer mist. I tried to get a better
picture of it but it didn't show up to well! Anyways this is
a better shot of the actually color.

Just a side view of the card.

Well that is it! Hope you liked my card and I hope you
can find some time to play along!!
You have until Sunday, April 10th to get your cards
done. Can't wait to see what you do with the glitter!

Have a great day!
:)Kathy

Tutorial Tuesday - Paper Flower

Hello Belles 'n Whistles Fans! It's the last Tuesday of the month and that means tutorial time here on the BnW inspirational blog. I made a tutorial to show how to make your own paper flowers. I hope you like it and hopefully get inspired to try it out!

So gather your stuff and follow me ;-)

You'll need the following:
Flower Punches in 3 different sizes, I like to use the retro punches
Double sided cardstock (preferably heavy weight)
water sprayer
brad
something to prick a whole through the flowers

Punch out 4 large, 3 medium and 3 small flowers.

Layer the flowers on top of each other and prick a hole through the centers.

This is what you should have right now.

Now stagger the different sized flowers on a brad (see photo above), starting with the smallest and secure brad

Take your water sprayer and wet the flower. Make sure it is wet enough to fold and shape the petals easily.

One by one start folding and scrunching the petals towards the middle. But be careful don't tear them, the water makes them very soft and delicate. If necessary spray again with water to wet the petals more.

This is how your flower should look after folding the small and medium petals

And this is how it looks after you're done folding and scrunching - a big wet chunk of paper.
No worries this will be a pretty flower soon;-)

Now the unfolding begins. Again petal by petal start unfolding and shape your flower as desired.
Still be very careful with the wet petals.

This is now your flower unfolded. I usually leave the last one or two layers of petals folded as the flowers centers. Let the flower dry.

Once the flower is dry you can decorate it with glitter, Stickles, glimmer mist, chalk, airbrush it etc.
before adding it to your next project.

And this is how my flower looks on my card:

Just a reminder: Our newest Belles 'n Whistles challenge started yesterday HERE on our challenge blog. This weeks theme is GLITTER!
We would love to see your entry and maybe you like to make your own glitery paper flower!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

For Mom

Happy wednesday to all of you!

Today I am sharing with you a little mother´s day card I made. Mother´s day won´t be here before beginning of may but it´s better to be prepared, right?

I used three of the adorable Belles´n´Whistles images here:

Mommy´s Little Helper
Doll
Mmmh! Yes Please! (just the table here)

I put those together to create that little scene and used some fresh and happy spring colors to color the image in. And I love how the paper with those tiny hearts matches the colors I picked for my coloring.

The round stamp says "happy mother´s day" and also has a little saying on, that for sure most german kids learn at school or Kindergarten. I try to translate it here for you:
"Dear mom - I know that you love me all year long. I should thank you more often than I do - but I am doing it today and believe me that this little greeting is meant to show you how much I love you".
Okay, that´s a pretty free translation and in german it also rhymes. But I wanted you to know the meaning since I really love it and it brings back memories of a few mother´s days where my little ones were standing there, saying this for me...

Have a wonderful sunny day!

Today is a Gift

Hi, it's Gini. Happy Spring to you! I wanted to share a card I made a few weeks back, that is one of my very favorite BnW cards that I've made. I used Kneeling Belle - and she appears to be quite popular as she is out of stock right now! And the colors just seemed to bright and cheerful like spring! Sometimes, I will go ahead and color my image before I pick out my patterned paper...and that's never a good idea. So with this card, I remembered to pick my papers first, so I could match my copics. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to play along with our Spring Challenge!

Spring is in the air......

Good Morning!!
I didn't get time to make another card
but thought I would put my challenge card here.
That can serve as a reminder as well to play along! LOL
The theme this week is anything "Spring".

Of course I went with the shabby chic look! LOL
Hope your not sick of it! I had alot of color so I
thought white or cream embellies would be lovely!
Also alot of glitter! haha
I adore this gorgeous image too! She can be
used for anything. She looks like she is just sitting
and patiently awaiting springs arrival!

Here is a close-up of my bow. I had to add glitter to
the edges too! Not sure if that made it a bit to much!

A close up of my flowers. Just a touch of pink.

Well thanks so much for stopping by and I can't wait to
see all your Spring creations!

Have a fabulous day!
:)Kathy

I have painted the the image with distress ink, reinkers. All the papers are inked with distress ink, walnut stain and then sewed. The patternpapers are from Tim Holtz. I have decorated my card with stars, made with a dies from qk. I have added stickles to the stars.
I wish you all a wonderful day

Spring Cleaning with Belle....

Greetings and Happy Spring.... (Almost)  I wish it would start acting like Spring here in NY.  Just when I think we are finished with the snow..... along comes another storm.

Needless to say, at our house we've started our Spring Cleaning a little early.  Partly because we've HAD to do it.  This year our Spring cleaning includes new paint throughout the entire house.  We had a heater mis-hap, and our walls among many other things ended up having a thin coating of black soot over it all.  WHAT A MESS!  Everything, and I mean EVERY SINGLE thing has had to be wiped or washed.  This has been going on for well over a week now, and I'm so tired of my house looking completely disorganized.

I have of course not given up on some of my crafting time, and so I thought I would put some adorable little Belle stamps to work.  Hey, if I have to do the cleaning then so should Belle, right?  The inspiration behind this little project was partially due to my husband hanging up things on the freshly painted walls in all the wrong places.  I then decided to create THIS since he insists that something should be hung in a certain spot....

When I created this wall plaque, I tried my best to make it a tad bit DISORGANIZED in it's layout.  Do you know how hard that is to do?  Having things centered or lined up is something that just comes naturally, but to deliberately make things off just a bit, and not have things lined up was a little harder than I thought it would be.  For instance, having the word "Cleaning" placed where it is, really drove me a little crazy.  I have such troubles not putting things where my mind thinks they should go.  ha ha

I had lots of fun working on this.  The beaded doo-dad between the two bows was a tiny challenge, but it worked out pretty well.  So there you have it, something fresh and new for my hubby to finally have something to hang on that wall.  ha ha...  Who knew a man would be so determined for something to be hung on a wall.  LOL

Thanks for stopping in and taking a peek today.  =)

Oh You Make Me Smile! :)

posted by *Vicki*
Doesn't the thought of Spring just make you want to SMILE?!! :)
It's been so cold over my way lately and I'm ready for the flowers to start blooming again!
So I thought that I would appropriately use this darling Belles 'n Whistles stamp named Smile!  I think she's perfect for just about any time of the year, so I thought I would add some "spring" looking colors and flowers to her...can you hear the birds chirping now?!!
Don't forget that we still have the Belles 'n Whistles Challenge going on right now using the colors red, pink and white...so be sure to stop on over for more inspiration from the team there and play along in the challenge with us! We'd love to see what you come up with!

If you'd like to see more details about my card, you can visit me on my blog

Mmmh, yes please!

Coffee and cream anyone? Well, I guess there can only be one answer: mmmh, yes please!

Hello and happy wednesday. It´s Kathrin here today sharing a little yummy creation with you. I have to write it again - mmmh, yes please. Because it´s the name of the stamp!LOL
But I also used the tea pot and cups from the Changeabelles "Cupcake, Roses & Tea" set. Therefor the little boy and the yummy pie had to leave the scene. Don´t worry, they are happy together... ;O)

Before stamping I removed the ink from the pie and little boy and added the cut out tea pot and cups afterwards. And don´t you agree that the little tea pot charm is the perfect finishing touch on this card?

The background around the image was made using some Antique Linen Distress Ink first and then addind some brown spreckles using a Color Spritzer Tool.

I love the monochrome and vintage look this card has - and I created it with these Copic markers:

E 23, E 81 and YR 30 are three of the brand new colors and they are perfect for those "creamy" areas.

Have a lovely day everyone!
