Just a Note...

Hello Belles 'n Whistles Friends and Happy TGIF! How are you all doing? I hope well and that you are looking forward to a wonderful weekend! Today I like to show you a little notebook I made or I should say decorated.

I stamped right onto the kraft cover and colored using Prisma pencils. The stamp I used is from the new SweetArt Girls collection and is called 'Here Kitty Kitty'. Sentiment is a clear stamp from my stash and I used only a matching ribbon for decoration. This little notebook has just the right size to fit in a purse. That's why I did not use any bulky embellishments and kept it clean and simple! You can see more detailed photos on my blog here.

Also please don't forget joining in our on going sketch challenge over at the BnW Challenge Blog! Looking forward seeing you there!

Have a great weekend!

Tuesday Tutorial - Just a Note!

Hello friends!!  It's my turn to post today and it happens to be the last Tuesday of the month which means it's time for another tutorial!!  I would like to share with you a really easy way to make a Post-It Note holder...Belles n' Whistles style that is!! :)

So please see my step-by-step directions below for the dimensions:
Here are some basic materials that you will need to get started:
Post-It Note pad
Sticky tape/ or red line tape
small pen to fit in your pen holder
scoring tool or cutter with scoring available
a piece of 8 1/2" long by 3 1/2" wide your choice of card stock
any other stamps, embellishments, inks, etc that you want to dress up your holder with

Step 1:  Take your 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of card stock and score it at 3 1/2", 4" and 4 1/2" on the longer side of the card stock piece.  Then you will turn your piece to the short side and cut two marks starting at one score mark and ending at the last score mark.  Make these cuts at 1 1/4" and 2 1/4" on the short side.

Step 2:  Once you have made your score marks and cuts, you will need to make your folds similar to this in the photo.  You will need to make sure that the portion you've cut, goes outward and the other score marks get folded inward.

Step 3:  After your folds, you can take your double sided red line tape and attach it to the two inside folds like you see here in the above photo.  DO NOT take the backing off the tape yet as you will want to keep everything flat while you're decorating the outside/front of your holder...so go ahead and decorate and add your embellishments that you want on the front of your holder....

Step 4:  (Sorry for the blurry photo) Now you are ready to attach your Post-It Note pad to the inside of your holder.  This is also the time you can take the backing off your red line tape and attach the two inner folds down to the inside to form the "book style".

And now you are done!! Just close the front and add the pen to your pen holder on the front!
I've used this darling A Fairy Nice Flower stamp for the front.
So easy and fun to make!! You can make several of them at once and give to friends! :)
Hope you enjoyed my tutorial and if you make one of these, please let me as I'd love to come see it!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!! HUGS

A Tagged Pen Friend!!

posted by *Vicki* - Stamped Smiles
Hello friends!!  TAG!!! Yes, I'm it!!  It's my turn to post here for you today!!
I hope you'll enjoy and be inspired by what I've got to share with you:
Sometimes you just want to create a "little something-something"... so I turned my attention to making a tag especially after seeing my fellow BnW DT friend Elise make such a darling one!!  And then I saw some fun inspiration on a challenge blog...so I decided to play that way today!

This image make look familiar to you as an older Sugar Nellie image, but now it's in the SweetArt Girls collection at Belles n' Whistles to purchase!! YAY!!  This is the darling A Pen Friend image that you may have seen during our recent blog hop.  I think she looks so sophisticated in the red and black colors here!  The tag was already purchased this way and all I did was stamp some wording in the background and layer it with the image and added some black swirls and red flower.  I then added the black ribbon and antique medallion on that.  So super easy and fun to make!!  So now she's ready to add to a package, card or even scrapbook page!  So now it's TAG....YOU'RE IT!!!

Happy Spring to all!

It's been a loooong time since Belles 'n Whistles put out a new release...I'll share with you why. I've been taking a bit of a break, enjoying some time away as my loved-ones and I prepare for the coming of a new addition to the family...baby number two! It's been 7 years since our first was born and now Andrew is anxiously awaiting the arrival of his baby sister in June!

Before THAT happens though, I wanted to get some fresh, new Belles 'n Whistles images out there in the stores (and our Elisabeth Bell's done a FABULOUS job with these!) as well as to revive some oldies-but-goodies of Elisabeth's that have been missing from the stamp world for some time, now residing in the Belles 'n Whistles collection of stamps!

Join us for our Spring blog hop as the Belles 'n Whistles DT showcase the brand new stamps available in the store later today...The fairy cute "Fairy Friends" Collection and the classic and oh-so-loved "SweetArt Girls"!

The hop starts here and will end here as well. If you hop along with us, please take the time to comment at each blog you visit.

One lucky commenter will be chosen by each DT member to win their choice of stamp being showcased by that member!

The grand prize winner will be selected from commenter's here on this Belles 'n Whistles blog, receiving a gift certificate for the Belles 'n Whistles store worth $65.00!

Before you leave, here's my unveiling of one of the new Fairy Friends, called "Dragonfly Flight"! Colored with Copics...papers from Basic Grey's Euphoria collection...and topped with Ice Stickles, my absolute favorite embellishment! (Perhaps I've gone a bit overboard!)

"Thanks for the lift!", she's telling her dragonfly friend! Don't you wish you could go on a Dragonfly Flight, too?! =)

For your comment here at the end of the hop--tell me which of the Fairy Friends you like best as well as what you think of the revival of the SweetArt Girls! ;D

It's Spring! Now make like the Easter Bunny and...get hopping!

Merry Sledging

Hello friends!
Today I want to show you a christmas card. I know it is a bit crazy making christmas cards in April. I guess most of you are looking forward to the spring and summer.
I have a goal to make 3 christmas cards a month, then hopefully I will avoid the stress in December.
I have made a card using the cute Merry sledging stamp. I have coloured the image with distress ink, reinkers. All the edges are inked with distress ink, walnut stain.
I have made a shaker card. If you take a close look you can see the glitter inside the frame. I have used spellbinders to make the frames. The "window" is made of gelantine.
The christmas card is decorated with flowers, roses, leaves, liquid pearls, pearls and cheese cloth.
Have a wonderful day.
Thank you for visiting the BnW blog
