Criss Cross card tutorial

Today I am going to show you how to make a criss cross card.
For the card you need: cardstock (2 different colours), pattern paper, lace, glue, paper cutter, stamp and embellishments
 Take a cardstock 30cm x 30cm and divide it in two, 15cm x 30cm.
Fold at the middle. Then cut one of cardstock diagonally from the center top to the bottom left. Cut the other one from the center top to the bottom right.
Glue the lace diagonally from the top to the bottom as you see in the picture above.
After that glue part A over part B.
Take cardstock nr 2 and divide it in 14cm x 14cm. Divide it in 2 (diagonally) as you see in the picture.
Cut the pattern paper in 13cm x 13cm and divide it in 2 (diagonally).
Glue pattern paper and cardstock together and place it at the front of the card.
Glue the card together. First part B of the card and then part A. Look at the picture how to do it.
Now you can decorate the card.
Then you have to make the tag. I have cut 13cm x 13cm aquarelle paper and stamped the same image inside, as I have used at the front of the card. Then I  have coloured the image.
I cut a cardstock 13,5 x 13,5 cm and added it to the aquarelle paper. I have used 2 eyelets to fasten the ribbons.
Here I have finished my card.
 Happy stamping and card making

Well - one day feeling like this little fairy "Fairy Good Rest" :-)

Colour: Copics
Embellies: Lace and pearls from my local craft shop, flowers from stash

Well - that's all from me - need to go and relax and enjoy some chocolate ;-)

Soft and Cuddly HUGS!!

Hello friends!!  It's my turn to post today and I'm excited to share this image with you...
When this "Forever Young" collection came out at Belles n' Whistles, I was not a DT member at the time...but boy oh boy, how could you NOT love the entire set of these?!  So of course I'm trying to stock up on them as they come in and they're still popular sellers..so be sure to keep checking for when they come back in!  I am! :)
The image that I've used on my card today is the darling Eden with Teddy!  I used to collect teddy bears growing up and this really takes me back to my childhood!  I kept with really soft colors when I colored her in and added the sentiment in the right upper corner.

The lovely sketch that I've used this card for is from the CLP challenge blog and this month Belles n' Whistles is sponsoring the challenge!  Yay!  So if you are looking to add more of these cutie stamps to your collection, pop in over there and join in the fun!  You have until the end of May to join!!

If you'd like to check out the other challenges I've entered this card in, please see my blog for more details about this!  Thanks for stopping in today!  Hope you enjoyed my card! :)

Life is a journey....

Good Morning!!
I hope your all having a nice week so far!!
Our challenge for this week is a nice and easy
one ~ Anything Goes!  I finally got my card
done and wanted to show you here.
I decided to go with Dragonfly flight!  I think she is
just adorable!! (Looks like she is out of stock right
now but I am sure she will be back soon!)

The image was colored mostly with distress inks and alot of twinkling h20's.
Alot of people have been asking how I use them. Well I just color
my image with the distress inks first and then hightlight areas
with the twinkling h20's! It works nice to try and match colors better
as well ~ since their are alot more colors than the distress inks.

Well that is it for today! I can't wait to see what you
all make for our nice and easy challenge this week!!

Hope you all have a fabulous day!
:)Kathy

Giddyup Horsey!

Hello Belles 'n Whistles Friends! The card I like to show you today is my creation for our ongoing BnW challenge! The theme this time is Anything Goes! That's easy isn't it? So why not start creating right away! For all the details check out our BnW challenge blog!

I used the cute Sweet Art Girl stamp 'Giddyup Horsey'. I got inspired by Beate with the shape of my card. She makes the most incredible cards! I colored the cute SweetArt Girls image with Copics and Prisma Pencils. The card shape is cut out using Spellbinders labels 8.

Here's a close-up on the image:

Thanks for visiting us here today. I hope to see your entry soon over at our BnW challenge  blog.
Have a great week!

so sweet

Hello and a very warm welcome from me in sunny Germany to all of you Belles´n´Whistles friends out there! It´s Kathrin again having a card to share with you today and I hope to give you a little inspiration.

Oh, the amount of those cute Belles´n´Whistles stamps is increasing and so it´s getting harder to pick THE one stamp to use. For today I went with

Eden with Teddy

from the Forever Young Collection.

I did some paper piecing on the image and used my Prismacolor pencils to add some shadow to the paper pieced areas. Just a bit, but it really adds deapth to the image.
Hair and skin were colored using my Copics.

The papers that I used for the paper piecing were also used on the card to put it all together. And there is a little tag hidden behind the image that can be pulled out and has the sentiment stamped on:

I used my sewing machine to add some stitches and also sanded the edges of the papers for a softer look. For embellishing I just added a few flowers and a wooden button that I pulled some thread through and tied a bow.

There aren´t many Copics I used but I am going to share those with you anyway:

I am wishing all of you a very happy and sunny weekend!

It's a Tiny Bit Different... What can I say?

Greetings Belles 'n Whistles Friends.  It feels as though I haven't posted here in ages.. Things have been busy busy busy, that's for sure....  But today I have something just a little different to show you.

I created this card using some of the fabulous stamps from the Change-a-belles collection.  A little bit of masking, and a little bit of coloring, add in some scraps, and here is what you get.  (Yes, I really did create this card with left over scraps of paper)

My goal here was to sort of create a vintage feel.  I don't think it's completely vintage, but it does remind me of something a tad bit old.  But what do you think of the masking??  I combined "The Gathering Place" with the "Roses" from the "Cupcake/Roses/Tea" set also part of the Change-a-belles collection.

I had been wanting to use this stamp as the main focus for quite some time, and FINALLY I got the chance to do exactly that.  Artist Elisabeth Bell truly is an amazing woman to create such beautiful designs for Belles 'n Whistles.

Just a reminder that there are only 3 more days after today, to enter into this weeks Belles 'n Whistles Challenge.  I hope to see you playing along, it's a fun one, I promise!

Thanks for visiting today....

Flowers for you

Happy Monday ladies!
How are you these days? Do you get a lot of crafting time or do you spend your time out in the garden?
I myself do get the time to craft - but that's in the very late evening when hubby and son are sleeping :-)

Today I would like to show you a card made with this cutie - Little Friend. I also wanted to create with colours that I normally use for Fall - but to see if they work for Spring as well. I actually think that they did ;-)
Love the DPs from SU - that makes this card feel warm and sunny - don't you agree??

Looking fwd to hear from you and also REMEMBER to join us for the BnW challenge.

A sweet treat

Hello all you lovely Belles´n´Whistles friends out there! Welcome to another inspiration post...

It´s friday the 13th today - I don´t know how about you but even if don´t really believe in bad things happening that day I always feel a bit scared though. So I thought I´d share something sweet with all of you to make you feel better in case something bad happened to you. And can there be anything sweeter than chocolat? Seems like at least this cutie here decided that there isn´t and enjoyed quite a lot of it... ;o)

This cute image is called

Belle's Strawberry Tea

and it´s another one of the georgeous stamps Summer and Belles´n´Whistels gave a new life to. I so love her - and with that chocolat in her face she seems to be sorry to not have shared it with her best friend Teddy.

The sentiment/list stamp is by Stampin´Up and once I had decided what I wanted to do I knew that this was the right one for my idea...
These are the Copics I used to color the image in:

Okay, so I am off, wishing all of you a happy and safe day - and just in case: chocolat may make your day happy again! ;o)

Enjoyment

Hello again!  I hope you're all enjoying your week thus far!  Going out for walks, sitting in the sunshine, making time for crafting ... and maybe even taking a great book to sit under a tree, enjoying some quiet time alone.  :)

Well, here's my card using Storytime .. I love the way she looks relaxing and kicking back so comfortably against a tree.  I can almost feel the warm Spring day, I can almost see the pond that's nearby with happy ducklings waddling after their mom ... so special.

Thank you so much for visiting us, and don't forget to stop on by to play with us at our Belles 'n Whistles Challenge Blog!  Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

Hugs,

Shabby Fairy.....

Good Morning!!
Kathy here and today is my day to showcase my
creation! I had to go with another fairy card!! LOL I just
think they are so cute!!  I can't help but to do them
shabby with flowery paper!!

This is a Fairy Good Rest so I made her into a thinking of you card
because to me it looks like she is in deep thought.  She is
colored with distress inks and twinkling h20's.  Here you can
see I added some dimension to the center of the flower.

My side arty shot to show texture:

In case you wanted to know how I get that look I have taken a picture of
the products that I use. First I slather the Gesso over everything. When
that dries I add the distress crackle paint and when that dries I
just dot some of the Snow Tex on with a paintbrush.  I found
all of these at the Hobby Lobby so I am sure they are
at any hobby or craft store.

Well thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you
all have a fabulous day!
:)Kathy

Digging Up the Past!

Hello Belles n' Whistles friends!  It's Vicki here to share another post with you.  I have been in love with Elisabeth Bell images for such a long time and so excited to find that Summer had created a store to specialize in only her stamps!  So of course I grabbed them up as much as my pocket book would allow! LOL!!

I had made this creation long before I became a DT member for Belles n' Whistles and I still love this card so much that I haven't even sent it away!!  So I thought you might enjoy seeing something from me using one of my favorite images (yeah...there's so many of those!! LOL!) from the past...
I've used this DARLING Surprise stamp that is actually a rubber stamp from before they went to the clear stamps they have now.  As you can see, I've been making easel creations for some time too!!  (I've also made a circle die cut easel for the latest Belles n' Whistles challenge you can find by CLICKING HERE.)

There are lots of different things going on for this creation.  I've got dimension with the balloon and some lovely shine by adding some crystal effects to it.  As you can see, I've stamped the image a couple of times for the balloon to get popped up on the image and then once again for the inside of the easel card.

I have several photos of this card on my blog post HERE if you'd like to take a better look at the dimension from different angels on this card!  :)
Thanks so much for stopping in today!! Hope you have a great day and we'd love to see what you come up with for the new challenge!!

from the heart

A warm welcome to all of you over here at the Belles´n´Whistles inspiration blog. This is Kathrin sharing a little card with you today - a card, that comes directly from the heart!

I used

A Pen Friend

for this - one of those beautiful stamps that were formally sold by Sugar Nellie and that Summer gave a wonderful new home. I can´t tell you, how happy I am about that!

On sunday we here in Germany are going to celebrate mother´s day. Monday my oldest came home from school having a bunch of "orders" from her class mates that asked me to make mother´s day cards for their moms... So, this is one of the cards I made.

This little cutie was my # 1 pick for this occasion. I love her look and the way she´s standing there like if she´s thinking if she should hand out that envie or not...
I didn´t put on a sentiment since I think the images is saying more than 1000 words!

For the coloring I used these Copics markers:

I am wishing all of you a wonderful and sunny weekend - and a day full of lovely surprises to all those moms out there!

Ready or not...Here comes Spring!

Good morning! It's Gini sharing with you today. Are you so happy that spring is here? Are you a gardener? Have you planted any flowers yet? If you haven't Belle here has done the work for you!

This card is what I made for the current challenge at Belles n Whistles! I used one of our new stamps, A Blossom for You. You still have a couple of days left to create a card using Anki's awesome sketch (and remember - you could win a new BnW stamp!)

A Productive Day of Play

Hello there!  Hope you're all well and enjoying the warm Spring days!  Do you see flowers blooming in your backyards, hear birds chirping away happily in the shaded trees, lizards out and about enjoying the sun upon their backs on their favorite rock?  Ahhhh, the wonderful feelings Spring brings huh?  :)

This little cutie here "A Fairy Good Rest" makes me imagine a couple things.  One .. she just played out in the sunshine ALL day long chasing dragonflies and butterflies and now she is SO ready for a rest.  lol!

Or I imagine her laying on that leaf, slowly twirling her finger in the water below her because her mama told her to take a nap .. and she's thinking, "sigh .. I'm NOT tired.  I want to PLAY!"  (But look at her!  She's definitely sleepy!  hehe!)  Does your child tell you that?  That they're not tired but you know they are?!  My little boy says that all the time.  :)

Well, thank you so much for visiting us today!  I hope you all have a beautiful day wherever you are!  Don't forget to join us in our current challenge over at our Belles 'n Whistles Challenge Blog .. you have lots of time left to do Anki's beautiful sketch!  :)

Hugs,
Elise

A Tag

Hi!
It is nice to be back in here. I have spend a lot of time making cards this weekend. In Norway it is confirmation time in May, that means a lot of cards to make.
I have decided to make a tag instead of a card for the BnW blog this time, to get some variation.
For my tag I have used the beautiful stamp Lilypad Dreams from the Fairy collection.
I have coloured the image with distress ink, reinkers. Then I cut the image out with scissors. The tag is made from a Tim Holtz die.
I have inked the edges on the pattern papers with distress ink, walnut stain. My tag is decorated with some pearls and stickers. The text says happiness.
Have a nice day.

A Summer Day

Happy May to you all!
One step closer towards Summer... Must say that I do so much enjoy the days we have now - with sunshine, clear fresh air, blue sky and the leaves so bright green.

Today I have this little cutie to show you - A Fairy Nice Flower.

I went for a rather clean layout - since I wanted the DP to show as much as possible.
Colouring: Copics
DP: Stampin Up
Sentiment - from my sweet friend Kathy
Embellies: Pearls from stash

Hope you like it and also - REMEMBER - join us for my Sketch challenge over at the BnW Challenge blog.
Looking fwd to see your entries.
