Wishing you love

Happy Saturday ladies!

It's going to be a quick post from me today - since we've promised Isac a stop at the toy store. You've seen her before, but isn't she adorable?

She's perfect for Valentine's Day that is around the corner (can you belive it - January is almost gone...). Went for a clean layout - hope you like it - using my SU DPs, added roses - a girls must have of course - a couple of dew drops and the SU sentiment.

Hope you like it and have a wonderful Saturday! If you've managed to create a card or project using this cute little image - please leave a comment with a link so I can find it.

Happy friday to all of you!
Surprise - this is the name of this wonderful stamp from the new Sweet Things Collection. I love this cutie. He´s sitting there, all dressed up, with that nice wrapped pressie and the flowers - but if you look close you can tell from the slingshot in his pocket that he´s all boy!

But surprise is not only the stamp´s name, you also get a surprise if you "open" the card:

A little piece of cardstock hidden in the inner part of the card appears. I was a bit afraid of this technique, called wiper card, probably being difficult to do but was I wrong! It is so easy and fast to do and looks so great! If you want to know more, feel free to read the post on my blog here.

I am wishing all of you a wonderful weekend with a lot of time for crafting!

Cupcakes Make Everyone Happy!

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are doing well. Rather than creating a card I decided to go blog hopping just to see what kind of cards all of you are creating with our newest collection called Sweet Things and I came across this bright and beautiful card!
This stamp is called Cupcake and was beautifully done by Vicki Parson!
I just LOVE how pretty she looks in yellow and how happy this card is! Not only did she create this card but this one below as well. This stamp is called Beary Big Hugs, I love that she made a Christmas card with her.
Keep on creating with Belles n' Whistles you never know when you will be featured here! Better yet, create a file in our Belles n' Whistles gallery so we can easily find your creations there.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

I Love You Beary Much!

Hello all and Happy Wednesday! Today I like to show you a Valentine card I made recently by order for a friend. And what image better to use than "Beary Big Hugs"?! This is one of my absolute favorite images. I just love the impression on her face and how dearly Belle is hugging her teddy bear.....just too cute!

I also got a little wild with my Spellbinder dies on this one ;-) Besides some half-pearls the only embellies I 've used on this card.  As frame for my image I used the pendant Fleur di Lis and the border is called Renaissance Hearts. I colored Belle using my Copics and did some airbrushing around her and on the sentiment (from The Greeting Farm) as well. Papers are from SEI.

Valentine is approaching fast but it's not too late yet! So get crafty and if you don't have the right stamp take a look here! I'll hope you like my card.

Thanks for visiting us here today on the Belles 'n Whistles Blog.

A Little Sweet Stuff

As you all know our newest release was and IS a huge hit.
These little sweeties are capturing tons of peoples hearts.
So I just had to share a little something that I made
especially for this post!

If you've never enjoyed cupcakes before, you are sure
to start enjoying them now.

I used "Cupcake" and colored her in pinks and chocolates!
I couldn't resist decorating the DP's with stamped cupcakes either.
I think this card is just delicious, and I just adore little "Cupcake".
She looks like she's really struggling trying to decide if she should
take a little nibble doesn't she?

I placed her on a soft tissue paper heart,
because she just looks like she belongs on something so beautiful.
Lace, silk flowers, beads & ribbons are all things that
this little cutie deserves,
so that is what I surrounded her with.

A soft inside to go along with her, making this a great
card for either a birthday card OR that special Valentine.

Thanks so much for stopping in today
and checking out this little cutie.
We'd love to see what you create with her too.

Now, my next project.... a Calendar page.
Don't forget, you can download our template
for it from our side bar!

Card Ingredients:
All papers used were from DCWV,
other than the pink tissue paper.
The sentiment on both the front and the inside
are from Stampin' Up.
The cupcake stamp on the inside and a few on the outside
is just a random cupcake clear stamp that I had,
and the mini cupcake is a Greeting Farm Cupcake.

I colored "Cupcake" with Copics, and inked my card
edges with "Creamy Caremel" ink from Stampin' Up.

January Birthday Calendar - The Christmas Door!

I've got a great project to share with you today, or tonight! Our every talented and thoughtfully sweet Iris came up with this great birthday calendar! I am forever forgetting birthdays and this year I want to try and be better about them. So Happy Birthday to my adopted baby girl, Kelly! Try and stay out of trouble!

I love this template because you can use it for birthdays, anniversaries, those special days, paydays, you name it and you can do it. Since it's January, I thought I'd use The Christmas Door from Belles N' Whistles, and color it in winter colors rather than Christmas ones. I think this baby doll is just so stinkin cute going to deliver her package. I made the balls on the trees and the wreath into fruit, oranges but you can call them pomegranates if you chose! I added Stickles and some Prima Flowers with spacers and pearls in the corner. Oh, and some the the Christmas stamps from our Belles N' Whistles Christmas Collection are now on sale! That's always as great thing this time of the year.

And don't you just love this sweet sentiment? My good friend, Deb, started a blog called Sentiment Salon and asked me to be on her design team and I was so excited! I can't wait to bring you some gorgeous and fun cards with sentiments on them! They're digis and so much fun! I love the idea of printing something out and sizing it how I want. Go over and take a look at the fabulous sayings she's got going on over there!

This was a good start for me because I'm wanting to get into scrap booking and I thought using all of a 6 x 6 piece of paper was a huge leap for me! I thought the Eskimo Kisses background was perfect for my winter scene! I had a blast on this one and I can't wait to put together my February calendar page.

Card Ingredients:

The Christmas Door from Belles N' Whistles, Baby It's Cold Outside sentiment from Sentiment Salon, copics, Eskimo Kisses paper and brads from BasicGrey, Bling from BasicGrey, Prima flowers, Spacers, Stickles, nestabilities, Distress Inks from Tim Holtz,

Love is in the air

Kitty Love

Happy Saturday everyone!

A quick post from me today - since we are leaving for Vattenpalatset (the Waterpalace) in our hometown. So I guess it's not going to be a blogging and cardmaking Saturday for me - but a play, "splash water on everyone"-kind of day instead :-)

We are going with my sister Louise and her family - so I am sure Isac and his younger cousin Julia will have tons of fun together.

I just wanted to share this little card that I made with the image Kitty Love from the new release over at BnW. I challenged myself to use purple and pink together and I must say that I am pleased with the result.

Coloured her with my copics. Added flowers and some dew drops.

Hope you like it and now I am off to try to get into that swimsuit (horror... *lol*)

Kramis and have a wonderful weekend!

Baking with Nana

I have used this sweet image called Baking with Nana from the Christmas Collection II. Colored with Copics. For the little girl's apron I used red and green Spica pen to draw the cherries for a little shine.
No sponging anywhere as I wanted a real clean look for this card. :) Hand stitched the edges with white thread all the way on the inside flap. Gingham paper is from a DCWV stack called Kitchen. Sentiment and heart is from a CHF set.
For the inside of the card, I had to make the stitches go all the way through the inner flap to save me stitching time lol! The small panel is left blank as I don't know what stamp sentiment to put there yet. I made the gingham dp longer on the inner flap so I can fold the edge to the next panel. I used a scallop border punch on the edge. For the note writing area, I again used the same MS lace punch on the bottom so it'll be a bit pretty when you open the card.
Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may leave!
There are still a few Seasonal stamps left on sale and you might want to check them out. :)
Have a wonderful day!

sweet birthday wishes

Today I want to share with you a birthday card I made using this beautiful stamp called Cupcake from the new Sweet Things Collection. I so fell in love with this image - as I did with all the Belles´n´Whistles stamps. Summer has such a good hand picking the sweetest images Elisabeth creates. I just saw that not only one but two of the new images are sold out at the moment so hurry to make sure you get your stamps right in time for valentine´s day!
I colored that little cutie - actually these are two because we don´t want to forget that little furry friend that´s with her - with my Copic markers. The flower was made using the snowflake Spellbinder´s and layering these. In my eyes it looks like peony.
I didn´t want to use too many embellishments on this one but needed something special so I decided to split the sentiment in it´s single letters and put them on the card individually.
More details about how I made the card can be found on my blog.
So, I am wishing all of you a wonderful day and if it´s your birthday: congratulations!

Introducing the Belles 'n Whistles Birthday Calendar

Hello and Happy Hump Day all! Are you like me? Forgetting birthdays all the time? Ooohh let me tell you I'm so bad with remembering birthdays *sigh* I had a wonderful Birthday Calendar once but since my last move it is lost....and so am I without it *lol* But I hope not any longer because the Belles 'n Whistles DT came up with the great idea to make a Birthday Calendar. Each month on the 20th (or the next week day if the 20th is on a weekend) we are showing birthday calendar page samples here on the blog. We've also created a template for you to use if you like to join us. In the sidebar you'll find a link to download the template (PDF).

We hope you do join us in making a birthday calendar and uploading your creations into the Belles 'n Whistles Gallery! What a great project to use your Belles 'n Whistles stamps. We would love to see what you are creating and like to showcase some samples here on the blog!

Ok so let's start with the January page! I chose Belle's Carols for my page and colored this adorable image using my Copics. Even it is a Christmas stamp it's very versatile. Well for me Belle is singing Happy Birthday now instead of Christmas Carols ;-) I decided to create each page using a different base color. And for January I chose a cool blue together with bright colors. I also stamped some swirls around the template to decorate it.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting our blog today. Hope to see some creations soon in our Belles 'n Whistles Gallery! Find more details about this calendar page on my blog.

I've finally made a card using this darling image called Smile. She was colored with Copics. Did some doodling for her sweater. The sky background was sponged. Papers are from the DCWV Green stack. Sentiment was a computer print out.

I placed some leaves punch outs to make it look like parts of the tree branches. I had to place her a little higher on the right because I didn't want to cover up the little birds on the dp. lol!
Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave!
Don't forget to stop by the Belles N Whistles stamp store as some stamps are still on sale!
Have a wonderful day!

Waiting for

Hej girls!
What are you waiting for?? I can tell you - I'm waiting for some sunshine. I do love the winter and the fact that we are having tons of snow - but a little sunshine - that would be sooo nice.
I have a quick post for you today and I hope you like this cute little image "Smile" from the new BnW release. I think she's a cutie.

I coloured her with my copics trying to match the DPs that was sent to me from my supertalented and sweet friend Tammi. This is not the colours that I normally use - but I'm surprised - I like them a lot.

Added some flowers and printed out a matching sentiment. The layout is rather clean - but I needed a little twist - as you can see :-)

Hope you are having a great Monday! And I would love to hear - what image that you are waiting for.

it´s chocolat time!

Giving away some chocolat to make someone happy is a good thing. Having the perfect card to go with it is even better. So I was on the lookout for a way of combining the card and the box in one project - and here´s what I came up with.
To decorate this little gift I used the cute "Kitty Love" stamp from the new Sweet Things Collection. Oh, you can see so clearly how much these two love each other!
I wanted to use some chocolat-ey browns and decided that blue was the best color to go with it. The blue designer´s paper was chosen because it matches the pattern from the cusion so wonderful. And the saying is about friends and chocolat so could there be anything better?

The box itself can be opened on the side to take out the chocolat.
If you open the box you can lift up the "card part" of the box. Inside I added a little window, covered with acetate, to allow a little peek on the content of the box:

I think that´s a cute way to show someone how important he/she is for your life. And if he/she loves you as much as you care about him/her maybe he/she will share the chocolat - that´s true love then! ;o)

Okay, so let me know, do you want me to create a template for this box? It´s 6 7/8" x 3 7/8" x 1 1/4" in my version here.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend and one of those friends that share his chocolat with you!

Celebrating - Belles 'n Whistles Style

I couldn't resist giving this post THAT title.
Because I was bound and determined to make
something party"ish"

My original plan for today flew right out the window,
and do you know why?
Because I couldn't find the exact little balloon bouquet
that I was looking for.

So I decided that I would try something, and my first
attempt was so....
Nothing spectacular....
Needless to say I was DEFINITELY NOT going to use
that to show you today.
but hey, why not show you what I didn't want to use?

You see, originally my plan was to use this cluster of
balloons card along with a bouquet of balloons.
The way I had envisioned it would have been nice for sure.
But since that plan was a flop I went to "plan B"

So I decided to take my little balloon idea
into another direction.

I made an a standard card, but what makes this card
a little bit different, is that each one of these images
(this months entire release)
Was scanned and altered so they would fit inside a balloon.
Yes - Yes, this was going to be great!

I did all of the layout on my computer,
making it like one big digi stamp!
Click Print and away we go!

My printer ink sometimes likes to smudge while coloring
with Copics, especially when I use light colors.
So to solve that problem, I sprayed just a tiny mist of
hairspray in the air and then waved the paper through it.
It was just enough to set the ink.

Now I was ready to color - and color I did!
This was the result.

When I was all done coloring, I added some clear glitter gel
to give the balloons a shimmery look.
Then some silver string, a couple of pieces of sheer ribbon,
and last but not least some half pearls.

I have to say that it came out even better than I thought it would.
Do you know what the best part about this card is?
That I didn't have to decide which image I would use,
because I love each and every one of them.
So I completely eliminated the decision making process.

Have you been uploading your creations to the
Belles 'n Whistles photo gallery?
We'd love to see what you create.
You never know when you'll be in the spot light!

Have a Happy Day!

Beary Big Hugs

Who can resist a teddy bear? Not I nor any little girl that I know! Beary Big Hugs is one of the new releases from the Sweet Things Collection from Belles N' Whistles illustrated by the talented Elisabeth Bell. I think they're such an adorable and versatile collection!

I colored her with copics and used some Diamond Glaze on her headband and ribbon. I fell in love with the gorgeous colors from the Honey Pie collection from Cosmo Cricket and thought they went perfectly with this sweet, soft image. I added a bit of dimension to the paper by using my textured cuttlebug folder. I tried to keep her simple and just added a hatpin, some ribbon, and Prima Flowers to the corner.

These faces are just pure joy and loved, don't you think? I know this is a bit of a change for me but I did hold back on the Stickles for this sweetie. Just a little on her top and the bear's sweet feet!

My favorite stuffed animal when I was growing up was my yellow tiger striped cat named Jenny. I still have her and she's here in Florida with me in my hope chest. I'd love to hear about what your favorite stuffed animal was while you were growing up! Let's revisit our childhood for just a bit. I hope it gives you the warm feeling that I have. If not, please take some of mine. We had a lot of love to go around.

Card Ingredients:

Beary Big Hugs by Belles N' Whistles, Honey Pie Paper Stack by Cosmo Cricket, Bling by BasicGrey, Stickles, Prima Flowers, ribbon, hatpin, Cuttlebug textured folder, corner rounder

Sweet Love calendar sheet

Happy Epiphany to all of you! Well, I am not going to share 3 kings with you, but two real cuties that have the greates gift of all for each other: love!

Have you ever missed a birthday? Well, I did and believe me - it was an important one! But we have the solution for this problem. And it´s not only useful but also beautiful to look at! I am talking about a birthday calendar. I know, it´s only january but I so bad wanted to use the Sweet Love stamp from the new Sweet Things Collection and it is perfect for february´s page. I love how Elisabeth has drawn these two cuties and I am sure - whenever I am not looking they are sharing a kiss! ;o)

I know, there are several calendar sheets to download. The one I used was created by Tanja and can be printed from here - in both, english and german.

It´s also a great gift to give away - for example to a friend that missed your birthday - and if the recipient is short of birthday cards he/she can peel off the decorated area from the calendar sheet and use it as a card front.

Psst, these stamps will ship soon so make sure you are one of the firsts to have them in hands by ordering them now!
